Applications for 2021 open on Saturday 30th May 9am and will close on Friday 28th August 5pm

 

"Department of Education Preschools provide educational programs for children for one year prior to enrolment in Kindergarten. 

 

 A child may be eligible for enrolment in preschool  from the beginning of the school year if they turn four years on or before 31 July that year."

 

John Brotchie Nursery School's enrolment applications consistently exceed the available positions so it is important to note that placement is not guaranteed. Every application received is reviewed individually, prioritised based on the eligibility criteria contained in the preschool's Enrolment Policy and not in order of applications received.

To enrol your child for preschool in 2021 

  • You must be intending to start your child in Kindergarten 2022

  • You need to be a resident of the former City of Botany Bay Council area - our school feeder catchment

  • You need to attend 1 of the open mornings/afternoons across Terms 2 or 3 - see dates below.

Enrolment open days:

Term 2

  • Saturday 30th May 9am                         
  • Wednesday 24th June 5pm

Term 3

  • Saturday 1st August 9am                            
  • Friday 28th August 5pm

 

At the open days you will:

  • Receive the Enrolment Policy and application form to complete.

  • Meet the Principal, have a tour of the school and learn more about our curriculum and approach to prior to school education.

  • Have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss individual needs of your child's application. 

Please make sure you bring:

  • Your child's Birth Certificate or Identity documents,

  • Proof of residential address and

  • Low Income Health Care Card (if applicable)

Placement panel:       

  • As per Department of Education policy John Brotchie Nursery School forms a placement panel.

  • The Placement Panel will be convening after the final open day to set the schools specific  priority enrolment criteria, review all applications and offer positions.
