A philosophy is the 'why' behind our work with children, their families and each other. It is a combination of our beliefs, values and hopes for the educational programs that we provide here at John Brotchie.
Our philosophy is a living document that is updated annually and reflects the core values and beliefs of the NSW Department of Education, our educators and families.
Our philosophy is closely linked to the Early Years Learning Framework as we strongly believe in guiding principles and practices as supporting a quality early childhood service.
At John Brotchie we have two main philosophies:
- our philosophy - which is over arching across our whole approach to early childhood education here at John Brotchie
- our nature play philosophy - outdoor education and nature play is integral to everything we do here at John Brotchie. So we thought it was important to have a separate philosophy to highlight our commitment and use to the outdoors and nature play.
